Since becoming a mum, access to the transformative power of making and watching theatre has become even more important to me. With this in mind, my longterm friend and collaborator Anna Andresen and I are piloting a series of acting classes for 16-19 year olds, who have already expressed an interest in drama and could benefit from some acting classes in a small group setting.
Over the 7 weeks, you will to learn to trust your instincts, make authentic choices rooted in the text, and to build up your capacity to receive, respond and play with your scene partners. We will use basic Meisner and Stanislavsky, and I will lead using my ensemble based approach. We hope that by the end of the 7 weeks, you will learn to confidently collaborate with fellow creatives, be empowered as an individual performer, and have an undestanding of the skills needed to work as part of an ensemble.
The group is limited to 10 people and classes take place on Wednesday evenings at RADA Studios - 16 Chenies St, London WC1E 7EX
Classes run every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm from 19th April - 24th May and culminate in an informal showing on Saturday 27th May.
The course costs £400 but subsidised places are available.
